  Coordinates: 29°27?N 74°39?E? / ?29.45, 74.65 Ellenabad is a city and a municipal committee in the Sirsa district of the state of Haryana, India. It lies to the north of the Ghaghara River. The city was founded by Robert Hutch, the Commissioner of Hissar, whose wife gave birth in the area.

Ellenabad is located at 29.45° N 74.65° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 189 metres (620 feet).
Demographics
   As of the2001 India census, Ellenabad had a population of 32,786. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Ellenabad has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 64%, and female literacy is 49%. In Ellenabad, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Ellenabad has an evenly distributed Sikh and Hindu population. There are small Muslim and Christian populations also.

The town's lifeline is agriculture, and the grain market in the town provides support to farmers from surrounding villages. The town has one cinema, one train connection to New Delhi daily and a few English primary and secondary schools. Recently, the town has seen many developments in terms of infrastructure and services.
